German Design Award 2025 – winner category kitchen
For the second time in a year, Martin Mühlböck’s kitchen model relief.1657 was nominated at international level (the first time for the Big See Award), impressed the jury and emerged as winner in the kitchen category. This time it was the renowned German Design Award 2025, which has been bringing visionary projects to the fore in Frankfurt since 2012 and aims to visualise the transformative power of design. The design of the relief.1657 kitchen is inspired by and based on the traditional shape of a wooden cooker and plays with surfaces and elements that contrast vividly with the background. The raised worktop takes up the design element of the relief and also has a practical use: The wooden chopping board can be moved across the entire work area, allowing for the greatest possible activity when crafting.
