kitchen anno_08
It is the years around the birth of Christ.
5 AD.
Tiberius, Roman general and designated successor to Emperor Augustus, defeats the Lombards at the mouth of the Elbe.
8 AD.
– the white Camargue horses gallop through the shallow waters of a lagoon. Flamingos sit on their breeding nests, reed warblers and herons strut through the reeds. At this point in time, a massive oak tree uproots in the French Camargue and remains lying in the moor.
The year is 2008.
The white Camargue horses are still galloping through the waters of the Rhone delta and thousands of breeding birds are still using the mild Mediterranean climate to spend the winter.
In 2008, this tree trunk, darkened by the tannic acid of the oak wood, which has slept through 2000 years of history lying in the moor, is salvaged, carefully loaded, processed and transported to Austria.
There, the entire stock is stored with dignity in the mühlböck manufactory and kept ready for a limited edition of the mühlböck kitchen “anno 08”. With reverence, the sub-fossil wood is sawn, planed, milled, drilled and refined using special brushing and preservation techniques and incorporated into the anno 08. Together with the high-tech ceramic surfaces, it symbolizes the evolution of kitchen construction. The timelessness of a mühlböck kitchen is made tangible.
