lenya
What is a kitchen? A kitchen is a tool. Lenya – “hard wood” in Germanic, “the shining one” in Greek and “helping hand” in Russian – stands for cleanliness and purpose. It satisfies the desire for aesthetics suitable for everyday use, the use of tried and tested, yet high-quality materials and for harmony and rhythm. Materials have their own language; you just have to listen to them. The honesty of the material lets the viewer feel it with their eyes. People seek tranquillity in the midst of activity. Lenya awakens sense and spirit. She finds her purpose in both the rural and the urban.
The ash wood and ceramic block reflects the simplicity created by tranquillity on the one hand and the utility created by liveliness on the other. In a world flooded with stimuli, the human mind longs for something tangible and handmade, something that can be touched. Working with your hands is grounding.
In the ash wood cabinet module with the “Cardo” doors, complex thinking results in simplicity and practical use. “Cardo” can be turned and positioned as you wish, it conceals the purpose of the kitchen and you can determine the order yourself. The aim of the kitchen is to take sustainability and functionality into account and return it to the cycle of nature. It is made to live in.
The traditional Austrian element of “Vergelts Gott” gives the table the stability that it takes from the character of the wood.
